Transneft Far East has completed preparation of operational facilities of the second stage of the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean oil pipeline (ESPO-2) and the pipeline offshoot from ESPO to Komsomolsk refinery for stable operation in the autumn-winter period.
The complex of works was completed on more than 2,300 kilometers of the line and 15 oil pumping stations (OPS). 549 heating systems and 23 boiler houses were prepared for operation during the cold season.
Transneft Far East’s specialists performed maintenance on 311 stop valves on ESPO-2 and the pipeline offshoot. The condition of pipelines, communication and power lines, power supply facilities and protective structures was examined. Non-flowing sections and valves of process pipelines were washed, air escape valves’ manholes, inspection chambers on crossings of roads and railways were inspected.
Automated protection and alarm systems, control valves, and safety devices also passed tests and maintenance at the OPSs. Along with that, operability of an intelligent oil leakage detection system was additionally tested. Heat insulation was added to industrial and administrative and amenity buildings, emergency diesel power plants were prepared. Based on the results, the passport of readiness was obtained for the operation of the operational facilities in the autumn-winter period of 2019–2020.
