Oleg Mogilny, Head of Fire-Safety Division of Transneft Far East has been presented with an award pin for Merits of the EMERCOM of Russia.
The award was presented to Oleg Mogilny by Oleg Volynkin, Head of the Khabarovsk Territory Directorate of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations, Lieutenant General of internal service, for Mr Mogilny’s merits in the implementation of the unified state policy in the field of civil defense, protection of population and territories from natural and man-caused emergencies, ensuring fire safety and safety of people at water bodies.
The awards ceremony for the Company’s representatives, who work together with rescue workers and firefighters, was held in Khabarovsk as part of learning practice dedicated to summarising the activities of units of the EMERCOM of Russia and the Russian unified emergency prevention and response system of Khabarovsk Territory for 2018 and also devoted to setting tasks for 2019.
Transneft Far East works closely with territorial bodies of the EMERCOM of Russia in Amur Region, Jewish Autonomous Region, Khabarovsk and Primorye Territories. These regions are crossed by phase II of the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean oil trunk pipeline (ESPO-2), operated by the Company. During fire-hazardous and scouring periods, the Company’s employees conduct continuous monitoring alongside specialists from the EMERCOM of Russia and provide support to rescue workers in the course of emergency prevention and response activities. A procedure for exchanging Information on forest fires is in place.
In 2018, business units of Transneft Far East were twice involved in extinguishing fires in private housing of settlements located nearby ESPO-2; they were engaged 31 times in extinguishing natural fires within 5 km of the pipeline.
