Transneft Far East supports Amur Waves international festival

The Amur Waves 2018 international military music festival will be held with the support of Transneft Far East in Khabarovsk from 25 May to 2 June 2018.

Transneft Far East is acting as the general sponsor of the festival.

This creative contest between military bands is held in Khabarovsk for the 7th year in a row and has become highly valued at both national and international levels. Experts recognize The Amur Waves as the most anticipated cultural event of the region.

The agenda of this large-scale event includes musicians performing classical and modern numbers at the city’s concert venues , a parade marching along the main street and a tattoo on Slavy Square (the Square of Glory) near the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral.

Musicians from Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Altai Territory as well as foreign guests from Mongolia and Kazakhstan and a Celtic bagpipes and drums orchestra will take part in The Amur Waves 2018.

"It is symbolic that Transneft Far East became the general sponsor of The Amur Waves in Khabarovsk in the year of the 25th anniversary of Transneft, that has been the general sponsor of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival  held in Moscow for several years," noted Oleg Fedoseev, Director of The Amur Waves festival.

Transneft Far East operates phase 2 of the Eastern Siberia–Pacific Ocean Pipeline System (ESPO PS-2) and pays close attention to social protection and occupational health of its employees as well as development of culture and sports in the territories located along the oil trunk pipeline. Since the beginning of oil transportation via the ESPO PS-2 (December 2012), the Company has spent about RUB 490 million on charity. More than 140 non-profit organisations in Amur Region, Jewish Autonomous Region, Khabarovsk Territory and Primorye Territory received financial support. Since the beginning of 2018, about 15 organizations and rural settlements’ authorities have already received the necessary funds from the Company.
