Employees of Transneft Far East participated in the regular stage of revival of garden nursery named after A. M. Lukashov in Khabarovsk.
50 specialists of the enterprise and their family members together with employees of the territorial AIA (Administration of Internal Affairs) removed household waste from the garden nursery’s section located near two water bodies and the water bodies themselves, as part of the traditional All-Russian Ecological Voluntary Cleanup “Green Russia”.
The garden nursery, organized in 1934 for keeping, studying and enriching the collection of fruit and berry plants of scientific, selective and economic value, occupies an area of more than 160 hectares. In the nineties its territory degraded, but hundreds of trees (apple, apricot, plum trees and unique Far Eastern sorts of pears selected by A. M. Lukashov) bear fruit as before.
Last year the city administration decided to revive the nursery. Large-scale city voluntary cleanups are conducted at its sections. Active employees of Transneft Far East participate in cleaning of the garden nursery for the second time. According to the results of the cleaning, car tyres, fishing nets, car hoods were taken out of the water; more than 45 cubic metres of waste were removed to the solid waste landfill.
Transneft Far East in its activities is guided by high social and ecological responsibility principles. Only in Khabarovsk Territory the company participates for several years in such activities as the all-Russian voluntary cleanup “Green Spring”, the campaign “Clean Banks for Our Rivers and Lakes”. The enterprise twice was declared the region’s “Environmental Leader”.
