Transneft Far East has held an environmental event at the Tom river in Amur Region.

Employees of the Belogorsk Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD) and the Belogorsk production support base took part in  cleaning of one of the recreation areas by the water which is popular among the Belogorsk residents. During the event 250 meters of the coastal area were cleaned up, 22 garbage sacks were collected which afterwards were sent for disposal.  

The event was arranged within the scope of the nationwide project entitled “For Clean Banks of Our Rivers and Lakes”; its main aim is to encourage people to feel proud of the beautiful nature of their native place and at the same time feel responsibility for it.

Transneft Far East transporting oil using phase two of the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO-2) oil trunk pipeline have been carrying out environmental events for already three consecutive years. In 2015 its employees have arranged cleaning at the banks of   the Tom river behind the Chekhov Bridge near Belogorsk,  at the Malinovka river in Ussuriysk, a сity in Primorsky Region. In 2016 cleaning was carried out at the coastal area of  the Amur river near Khabarovsk and the  Khingan river near Obluchye in EAO (Jewish Autonomous Region).

In July 2017 waste removal events were held at the river banks in all the regions where the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil trunk pipeline runs: Khabarovsk and Primorsky Regions, Jewish Autonomous Region and Amur Region.

Transneft Far East pays much attention to environment protection issues. The company’s employees perform continuous monitoring of storks’ breeding sites in the Aistinyy Khabarovsk region nature reserve and of the young yews planted in the Varvarovskoe forest district in Primorsky Region. Besides, educational work with children and young people is carried out, various environmental events are arranged for them. Events to restore the population of cedars are also organized, at which the company’s employees plant trees along the alleys, in public gardens and parks. Thus, 270 trees were planted in Belogorsk in the spring of 2017 (pines, birches, spruces) near the houses where the employees of the Belogorsk RPD live and near the RPD’s office building.
